WRIGHT COUNTY, MN — The Wright County Board of Commissioners is set to start working at the new administration building, signaling the end of county officials’ tenure in downtown Buffalo.

The board was the final holdout at the old Wright County Government Center, as it was blocked from moving to the new building outside Buffalo until recently due to supply chain issues.

Those issues continue to exist, but the board is scheduled to hold its next meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the new Wright County Government Center just north of Buffalo city limits near the county jail, officials said Friday.

“With the commissioners now moved into the new facility, the old Government Center in downtown Buffalo will be closed and mothballed,” officials said Friday on Facebook.

“Mothballing” means preserving a building, equipment or item in good condition so it can easily be used again.

Wright County offices in downtown Buffalo started closing in mid-March to complete the move to the new facility.

County officials have touted a huge increase in parking for residents trying to access services at the new Wright County Government Center, which has a public parking lot with hundreds of spaces.

Only about 15 vehicles could park at one time at the Wright County's old facility, officials said.
