The purpose of the spring load restrictions is to protect and preserve county roads and highways during the period of thawing when the road beds are their most vulnerable. Typically, there is a short warning window before the restrictions go into place. When the highway department makes than announcement, we will inform residents immediately when the restrictions take effect.
