It's time to hear from our Legislators before the session begins. Join us on zoom on Feb 14 from 10 -11:30 am to get the inside scoop from our state legislators on what they anticipate the upcoming session will focus on. Six of the eight legislators serving Woodbury, Cottage Grove, Newport and St. Paul Park have already committed to participate.&nbsp;&nbsp;This event, sponsored by the Woodbury Cottage Grove Area League of Women Voters, is one of the most anticipated public events of the year. Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success.
