• Lamar Smith may get Lincoln County road designation (dailyleader.com) — Lincoln County supervisors have unanimously backed naming a stretch of Highway 550 after Lamar “Ditney” Smith, a Black voting-rights advocate killed in 1955, and the proposal now awaits MDOT approval. The board also reviewed county finances, approved equipment purchases and training travel, and handled contracts and bids that shape services for Brookhaven and Lincoln County residents.
   

• Lincoln County Jail Docket: MHP charges 2 with DUI, drug possession, speeding (dailyleader.com) — Recent entries in the Lincoln County Jail docket include several arrests made by the Brookhaven Police Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol between Dec. 4-7, covering charges such as DUI, marijuana possession, disorderly conduct, and city warrants.
