• Senate confirms Trump nominees for Mississippi federal judgeships (enterprise-journal.com) — A Hernando resident, Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Robert Chamberlin, has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as a federal judge for the Northern District of Mississippi, alongside Justice James Maxwell of Oxford. Their confirmations, once delayed by an unrelated North Carolina tribal recognition dispute, mean a local Hernando figure will now help shape major federal decisions affecting North Mississippi.
   

• DeSoto Co. judge returns to bench for the first time since arrest (wreg.com) — A DeSoto County judge is back on the bench after a DUI arrest that began with a Hernando police traffic stop on West Valley.
