  1. The Trail of Honor made a stop in Jackson on Saturday. The event featured life-like reenactments of wars throughout American history, allowing visitors to see what life was like during wartime. The Trail of Honor also remembers 58,000 Americans who lost their lives with a memorial wall. Organizers of the event say the wall is important to them because they have many ancestors on it that served in various branches and fought to protect their families and their homes. (WJTV)
  2. A teen is wanted for driving a stolen car into another vehicle, injuring a pregnant woman and three children in another vehicle. The crash happened on Saturday afternoon when a woman was getting groceries out of her vehicle on McDowell Road. A 2-year-old in the vehicle was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The other two children and the woman were also transported to the hospital to treat their injuries. The Jackson Police Department is still searching for the suspect and asks anyone with information to call. (WLBT)
  3. The Jackson police chief announced his retirement as the city grapples with patrol issues. After 30 years, James E. Davis will depart from the police department leaving assistant chief, Joseph Wade, to fill in his spot while the city conducts a broad search to fill the position. This comes as the city struggles to maintain enough badges to patrol and protect its citizens. In 2019, the city had 335 officers employed; as of today, the city has 225, and many have gone to work with the state-run Capitol Police force for higher pay. (The Commercial Dispatch)
