Ann Wagner Responds to Democratic Recount

After a recount resolved for the 2nd Congressional District's Democratic ticketholder, Republican candidate Ann Wagner says her goal is the same.

After the Aug. 7 primary race left Glenn Koenen the Democratic choice for the 2nd Congressional District with aΒ , challenger Harold Whitfield .

and reaffirmed Koenen's win by 48 votes.Β 

Ann Wagner, Republican candidate for the 2nd Congressional Districtβ€”which includes parts of Affton-Shrewsbury Patchβ€”had won the primary for the Republican ballot spot without any questions.

"We started this campaign nearly 17 months ago with a goal of returning strong, effective and conservative leadership to Congress," Wagner said in an email. "Regardless of who our political opponents are, that goal still remains." Β 

Wagner and Koenen are running for the 2nd Congressional seat for the Nov. 6 election.

"Over the next 55 days we will continue to talk directly to the voters and earn every vote," Wagner said.
