A local Eagle Scout can move forward with building a stone memorial as a tribute to Shrewsbury on its 100th anniversary.
Colin Hoock, 14, submitted a plan for the 10-foot long and 4-feet high wall and aldermen approved it last week.
Colin will enlist a crew to erect the wall in a triangle that will encompass Laclede Station Road, Murdoch and Wilshusen Avenues. The wall will be located near existing flag poles.

The project costs about $2,000 and will be built through contributions. The city will maintain it, according to the approved agreement. St. Louis County also had to approve the project since it maintains Laclede Station Road.
Affton-Shrewsbury Patch was initially introduced to the project via Colin posting on the site.
