Lot Under E-Billboard Cited for Weeds, Otherwise OK
County Councilman Pat Dolan asked St. Louis County's Public Works Department to investigate the gravel/asphalt lot at the Gravois and Tesson Ferry Roads intersection.

Owners of the gravel lot under the electronic billboard on Gravois Road were cited last week for overgrown weeds, but otherwise, the lot is up to code, officials said.
County Councilman Pat Dolan asked St. Louis Countyβs Public Works Department to investigate the lot at the Gravois and Tesson Ferry Roads intersection after the Affton Community Involvement Association alerted Dolan to what they called a βproblem property.β
Larry Stone, chairman of the ACIA, wrote: βWhatΒ currently exists beneath this behemoth of a sign is gravel, weeds, piles ofΒ unearthed rock and, at the eastern portion of the property, the remains ofΒ former black top parking having large pot holes. This is not acceptable.β

Stone was right about the weeds. According to county code, weeds cannot be over nine inches in height, so the owner of the lot, 9959 Gravois Road LLC, received a citation.
However, the lotβs gravel and asphalt surface is βacceptable in its current conditionβ as long as itβs not used for parking, Dolan said.Β
