Arnold Police Reports: Drug Possession Charges, Missing License Plate Tabs

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information for the weeks ending Feb. 26 and Feb. 19.

Feb. 26

  • A California man faces marijuana possession charges after an officer investigated a suspicious vehicle parked in the 800 block of Arnold Commons. The man was released on a court summons.
  • A women in the Starling Community reported damage on her car’s steering column. Police officers noted the car was locked and no signs of forced entry.
  • An employee for  TJ’s Pizza Company, 3700 Jeffco Blvd., reported that someone stole the license plate tab  from a company vehicle parked at the restaurant.

Feb. 25

  • A man, living in the 1500 block of Roy Drive, reported that someone stole his Buick Century car. A family member heard someone start the car at 6 a.m. and drive away.  About that time, a suspect fled from a traffic stop a few blocks away from the victim’s home.
  • A employee, at 776 Jeffco Blvd., reported that an Arnold man, 29, tried to return merchandise that he did not purchase. The man faces charges of stealing less than $250.
  • Officers charged a St. Louis woman, 41, with driving while intoxicated near the intersection of Starling Airport Road and Electra Drive.

  • store security, at 2150 Michigan Ave., detained a High Ridge woman for allegedly taking about $250 in clothing.

Feb. 23

  • The driver of a Silver Pontiac Grand Prix is wanted by the Arnold Police Department after he fled a traffic stop while driving north on Interstate 55. The driver is described as a black male, 25 and is a St. Louis resident.
  • Officers called the child abuse hotline after finding a boy, 9, in unhealthy conditions in the 2100 block of Plaza Drive. Police found spoiled food and feces thrown about the residence.

  • A husband and wife face charges of lying to officers after a wreck on Richardson Road and Interstate 55. They drove in separate vehicles but only one person was involved in the wreck. The woman also faces charges of driving while intoxicated. Both people were released on separate court summonses.

Feb. 21

  • Two teens face marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession charges after police found them in a car parked in the 2900 block of Schneider Lane. Both teens were released and must attend court.
  • Someone in a maroon Chevy truck pumped $82 in fuel from , at 3611 West Outer Road South, and left without paying, said a U-Gas employee. Another employee reported, in a separate incident, that a man driving a 1990-era Ford Taurus pumped $30 of gasoline and left without paying.
  • A man at the , at 1695 Missouri State Road, reported his wallet and iPhone missing from an unsecured locker.
  • A employee said someone broke his vehicle’s driver’s side window, sole a $100 jacket and damaged the dashboard. The employee was working at the restaurant during the theft.
  • More than $500 in speakers were stolen from a car parked at about 9 p.m. at 806 Arnold Commons. The victim also said his dashboard and steering column were damaged as someone attempted to steal the car’s stereo system.
  • A car was stolen from 901 Arnold Commons while the owner worked at .

Feb. 20

  • Police arrested a St. Louis man, 20, after he drove his truck in a city park and caused about $300 in damage. Police released the man on a court summons.

Feb. 19

  • Three juveniles face marijuana possession charges after police stopped them for a traffic violation near the intersection of Vogel Road and West Outer Drive. The juveniles were released to their parents.

Feb. 18

  • A Jefferson County Youth Association spokesperson reported missing 200-feet of copper wire and 20 circuit breakers from the organization’s 405 Jeffco Blvd building. The stolen items are valued at $1,500. There is also about $2,000 of damage to the non-profit’s building, the police report said. The items were taken between Dec. 4, 2010 and Feb. 18.
  • Police received a tip that a Fenton man, 49, stole copper wire from the Atomic Firework’s storage lot at 333 Arnold Crossroads. Police returned all the property to a fireworks employee.  The suspect was released on a court summons.

Feb. 17

  • An Arnold woman handed over counterfeit money orders to the Arnold Police Department. Someone sent the documents to the woman after asking her to become a secret shopper, the police report said.
  • Arnold police officers informed a woman, living in the 1300 block of Apollo, that she received fraudulent check in the mail. The woman, responding to a letter, sent $945 to a Canadian address then received the fraudulent check.
  • Police charged an Affton man, age 21, with heroin possession after they investigated calls of a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Rosedale Drive and Richardson Road.

Feb 16

  • Officers arrested six juveniles — four girls and two boys — after investigating a shoplifting complaint at , at 505 Jeffco Blvd. Police found the juveniles at Arnold Park and held them on truancy charges. The girls face charges of stealing less than $500 or for possession of stolen property. The children were released to the custodians.

Feb. 15

  • A Mayfield, KY, man, 52, faces shoplifting charges after U-Gas employees detained him in the 3600 block of West Outer Rd. at about 8:30 a.m. The man was released on a summons.
  • A 17-year old Briarwood Court resident faces charges for assaulting his mother and for drug paraphernalia possession.  Police jailed the man and released him on a court summons. 

Feb. 14

  • Officers charged an Arnold resident, 22, with driving while intoxicated after investigating a silver truck stopped in the middle of Richardson Road over Interstate 55. The man refused the sobriety test,  was held and released to a sober driver.
  • A Festus woman, 36 faces heroin possession charges after an officer investigated a possible shoplifter at Walgreen’s, 3937 Vogel Road.
