Census: Arnold Population Grew at 4.2 Percent
The city's minority population had the greatest growth. The number of Asians in Arnold increased 146 percent during the last 10 years. The number of blacks increased nearly 97 percent. The Caucasian population increased 2.5 percent.

The most recent census figures revealed that Arnold's population increased more than 4 percent, or by 843 people, since the last population count in the year 2000. Jefferson County's entire population increased about 10.4 percent, or 20,643 residents, during the same period.
The St. Louis County population shrank by about 1.7 percent, or 17,361, census figures showed.Â
The numbers also revealed that Arnold's population became more diverse between the years 2000 to 2010.Â

In terms of race, the Asian population had the greatest increase at 147 percent, or to 185 from 75, over a 10-year period. The number of blacks grew 97 percent, or to 116 resident from 59, during the same period.
The number of Hispanics or Latinos in Arnold grew about 120 percent, to 455 residents from 207.Â

Blacks and Asians are racial designations, according to the federal government.  Hispanics and Latinos are cultural designations. Â
The number of Caucasians in Arnold increased 2.6 percent, or by 498 people, in comparison.
