Flood Season Arrives in Arnold, Oakville
The weekend's storms, which closed Lambert-St. Louis International Airport in north St. Louis County, added to the flooding in Arnold and Oakville.
The flood season arrived at the Meramec River last week and this weekend’s rains closed several low-lying areas in Arnold and Oakville.
Parks and Recreation Director Susie Boone said boat launches in Arnold City Park were closed and that her staff would monitor Pomme Creek Golf Course, which is affected by heavy rains.
“The Meramec River is rising, but we’re really affected by the Mississippi River’s levels,” Boone said during a City Council meeting at City Hall, at 2101 Jeffco Blvd., on April 21.
