Jefferson College Student Orientation Today

New and returning students can pick up books and tips for college success at the Arnold campus at 5:30 p.m.

Jefferson College will have orientation sessions in Arnold Thursday and in Hillsboro on Saturday to help new students.

The meeting in Arnold is at 5:30 p.m. at 1687 Missouri State Rd.

The Hillsboro meeting at 1000 Viking Drive is at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, said Jefferson College spokesman Roger Barrentine in a news release.

Students with disabilities will have an additional orientation at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Hillsboro campus’ library.

The orientation is for new students or those who have been out of college for a few years.

Orientation topics include course expectations for the first week of classes, items needed for courses, campus terminology and learning to use the college's electronic communication system.

A faculty panel will also offer tips to help students become successful in the classroom. Students can ask instructors questions after the session.

The Hillsboro orientation will include a campus tour at 11:30 a.m. in front of the Arts and Science I building. Students should bring their schedule for the tour.

Students at the orientation in Arnold can pick up their textbooks prior to the session.

On Saturday, the Hillsboro Bookstore will remain open until 2 p.m. and the Arnold Bookstore will remain open until 7 p.m.
