Jefferson County Ranks 106th out of 115 Missouri Counties

Jefferson County's health behaviors, which include smoking, earned it a near bottom ranking among all Missouri counties.

Jefferson County has a collection of health behaviors that rank it near the bottom of Missouri's counties.

A county-by-county analysis conducted by the University of Wisconsin's Public Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation said Jefferson County had relatively high rates for high alcohol consumption, teenage births, numerous sexually transmitted diseases, and high rates of obesity, the stltoday.com editoral said.

The report fails to recognize the Jefferson County characteristic of determined individualism, the editorial says.
