Two new fitness classes begin tonight at the Arnold Recreation Center.

Monday Night Events
, 1695 Missouri State Road, 5:30 p.m. — Tonight is the first night for six-week program designed to strengthen, tone and define every major muscle group in the body using body bars, hand weights and resistance bands. The event is open to ages 16 and older.

, 1695 Missouri State Road, 9 a.m. — A 25-minute class that firms and strengthens tummy and bottom. A second six-week program will begin on Jan. 20. Call 636-282-2380 for more information. There is a $10 fee for residents and members. $15 fee charged to non-residents.
fitness class, 1695 Missouri State Road, 1:10 p.m. — An hour-long class to help seniors improve their balance and lower their injury risk. The six-week class uses components of Tai Chi, yoga and specific exercises for arthritis. Call 636-282-2380 for more information. There is a $25 fee for residents and members. $35 fee charged to non-residents.

Weather — A hazardous weather outlook was issued for eastern Missouri, according to the National Weather Service website. There is a chance of light snow falling in the area but no accumulation is expected, the NWS website reported. There is an 80 percent chance of rain or precipitation overnight with the greatest chance of rain occurring before 3 a.m. Tuesday. The evening low temperature is forecast at 39 degrees with a wind speed between 6 to 11 mph from the south. As the evening progresses, the wind will come from the west.
