Residents See Glimpses of Arnold's Future

People at the Arnold Recreation Center, or passing through the center, saw three possible scenarios for the city's development.

About 50 people selected elements from three possible futures for the City of Arnold's development during a presentation at the Arnold Recreation Center on Tuesday night.

Poster boards detailed the location and effect of 1) a market-driven development where businesses preferred to build on undeveloped plots of land; 2) a structured development emphasizing two commercial retailing centers; and 3) a plan that created a new downtown, sidewalks and parks west of Interstate 55.

Planners from Patti Banks Associates developed the scenarios based on residents who completed online questionnaires or who attended a public forum late last year.
