Rockport Heights Teacher Asks for Internet Donations to Help Classroom

Teachers are using the DonorsChoose.org website to fund classroom projects.

A Rockport Heights Elementary School teacher has turned to the Internet to improve her students’ chances of success.

The teacher who identifies herself as Ms. Polk on the DonorsChoose.org website has asked donors to help fund a computer printer, an electric pencil sharpener, testing pencils and test preparation books.

“Most things seem unobtainable because we have a very limited amount of funding available due to major budget cuts in the state of Missouri,” the teacher wrote on the website on Jan. 1.
