• Al Manakeesh restaurant headed for Ballwin (westnewsmagazine.com) — Ballwin’s Board of Aldermen has approved a special use exception for Al Manakeesh Restaurant at 15250 Manchester Road, just east of New Ballwin Road. The Middle Eastern bakery-café will operate daily from 8 a.m. to midnight, with no outdoor seating, alcohol, or amplified music, aiming to stay quiet and minimize disturbances for nearby residents.
   

• Missouri Attorney General expands investigation into kratom, synthetic 7-OH businesses (kshb.com) — A Ballwin smoke and vape shop, Flare Smoke N Vape, is among several Missouri businesses now under investigation by the state attorney general over kratom and synthetic 7-OH products. The probe focuses on whether these opioid-like substances are being made, labeled, and marketed safely and legally, following federal seizures and growing concern from health officials across Missouri.
