• Blue Springs expands camera system to speed emergency response, cut crime (kctv5.com) — Blue Springs is investing up to $6 million over 10 years to expand its Flock camera and drone system, aiming to cut crime and speed emergency response from about five minutes to under two. City leaders say the upgraded network should be fully operational by early June, in time for increased regional traffic ahead of World Cup 2026 visitors. 
• Blue Springs looks to ban synthetic 7-OH, other unregulated products (kshb.com) — Blue Springs city leaders are moving toward an ordinance to ban or tightly regulate synthetic 7-OH, kratom, and other hemp and cannabinoid products after reports of youth overdoses. The council unanimously directed staff to draft options, which could include an outright ban or 21-and-over sales, with a detailed proposal expected at the February council meeting.
