• Preserving wetlands: ‘Those that are remaining are critical to maintain' (northernpublicradio.org) — A volunteer crew is reshaping a five-acre wetland along Canton’s riverfront, replacing invasive trees with native species to boost habitat and flood protection. Led by master naturalist Dan Kelly, the project also sparked talks at Canton Public Library, including a MoDOT study targeting wildlife-vehicle crash hot spots between Wayland and Canton. 
• Balanced Scoring Lifts Canton Past South Shelby (lewiscountyscoop.com) — Canton fans just saw the Tigers edge South Shelby 70–65 at home, powered by four players scoring in double figures and freshman Bryson Brewer’s 18 points. Coach Dalton Armontrout praised the effort but wants better rebounding and late-game focus as Canton hosts Mendon Unity on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
