• 2025 Missouri Football Coaches Association All-State list highlights Tri-State success (ktvo.com) — A Chillicothe High School standout, defensive end Jaishon White, earned First Team All-State honors from the Missouri Football Coaches Association, putting the town on the statewide football map. He’s joined by numerous Tri-State athletes from schools across northeast Missouri. Local fans can see the full slate of honorees and additional All-District picks on the association’s website.
   

• Larry Gale Heisey, age 85 (kttn.com) — Chillicothe is mourning the passing of longtime resident Larry Gale Heisey, 85, who died at his home on December 11. A co-owner of the Missouri Communications Shop in Chillicothe, Larry was active in ham radio and the American Legion. His family plans a private inurnment in Kansas, and memorials may be made to the Vern R. Glick American Legion #25 Auxiliary through Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
