5 Things to Know About This Week in Eureka and Wildwood

1) You can get a sneak peek at some ambitious plans from the Great Rivers Greenway regarding a project to connect the Monarch-Chesterfield Levee Trail to the Western Greenway Trail in Wildwood during an open house at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, at Wildwood City Hall. The organization is looking to gather public feedback on the proposed 15-mile, multi-use trail.

2) What little kid doesn’t love dinosaurs? Take your tyke to a dinosaur-themed party at 7:30 p.m., Monday, at the Eureka branch of the St. Louis County Library system where they can listen to stories, sing songs and, most importantly, stomp around like a dinosaur.

3) An informational meeting is scheduled this week concerning a joint project by the City of Wildwood and MoDOT to improve traffic safety and flow along a portion of Route 109 between Route 100 and Clayton Road. The meeting will be held from 4 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, in the Community Room of Wildwood City Hall.

4) Shoppers will want to head to Chesterfield this Friday for the opening of the Taubman Prestige Outlets, one of two highly anticipated outlet malls scheduled to open in the city this month. The Taubman development is the one located on the east end of Chesterfield Valley near the Boone’s Crossing exit on I-64.

The stores officially open at 9:15 a.m. and Taubman is planning a variety of festivities and promotions, including a $25 gift card for the first 1,000 shoppers in line.

5) You may also want to plan additional shopping outings to your favorite retailers in the area this weekend. Missouri’s back-to-school sales tax holiday runs from Friday, Aug. 2 to Sunday, Aug. 4.
