Bow Hunting Back on the Agenda for Eureka Board of Aldermen

Falling weather balloons, voting for the City of Wildwood calendar contest and an open house on the future of the Rockwoods Reservations are all happening this week.

1) The Missouri Department of Conservation is seeking input on what you would like to see the future of the Rockwoods Reservation. The agency is holding a public forum for people to bring their ideas to an open house from 6-8 p.m., Monday, at the visitor center, 2751 Glencoe Road.

2) Residents in Wildwood and West County will want to keep a sharp on the sky this week as St. Louis University will be helping NASA conducted a study involving the launching of 34 weather balloons. The balloons will go up in the sky from Forest Park on Monday and it’s possible some could land in Wildwood. Mayor Tim Woether has the details on what to do if you find one in your backyard.

3) After approving one such permit in July, several more employees of Six Flags will be coming to the Eureka Board of Alderman to request a permit for bow hunting on the theme park property. The board’s agenda for their Aug. 6 meeting is posted online.
