Help the Pond Athletic Association Celebrate 50 Years

Baseball tryouts, a blue grass concert and a book signing are also happening this weekend.

There's plenty to see and do for the weekend of Aug. 9-11 in Eureka, Wildwood and the surrounding area. Patch has rounded up some of the best events for you and your family:

1)Β The Pond Athletic Association will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with a party on Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be live music, free games for kids and even a special appearance by David Freese at 11 a.m. Other activities include home run derby’s and a radar gun for pitching/speed contests.Β 

2) The summer baseball season may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean it’s too soon to start thinking about next year. The Eureka Jr. Wildcats Baseball Club will be holding tryouts Saturday at 8 a.m. at Eureka High School for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Β

3) If you like bluegrass and you don’t mind a little bit of a drive, you will want to head to Labadie, Missouri on Saturday. The Smokehouse Allstars will be playing a reunion concert at 7 p.m. to benefit the Labadie Community Scholarship fund.

4)Β Six Flags St. Louis will also be hosting a concert as part of the park’s Christian Family Day with a performance by Tenth Avenue North at 8 p.m. at the Old Glory Amphitheatre. The day’s events will also include the annual iSing competition, hosted by Joy FM.

5) Wildwood Author David W. Dial will be in Chesterfield Saturday to sign copies of his latest thriller, β€œEighty-Six Years,” which follows the hunt for a genius serial killer. Dial will be at the Kaldi’s Coffehouse on Chesterfield Airport Road from 1-3 p.m.
