High Ridge Riding School Apparently Closes

Patch--and several prospective customers--haven't had much luck connecting with the owners of Johnson Horse Riding School.

Johnson Riding School, with locations in High Ridge and Pacific, appears to have closed.

Lessons in Western and English riding styles are taught by Christina Johnson and another instructor, according to the riding school's Facebook page. They offer lessons for children and adults, group lessons for birthday parties and scout troops, in addition to horse training. Indoor facilities are available for winter months.

I've received notes from a handful of readers who have contacted us to find out whether the riding school is still in business. Some took advantage of Groupon details that were available last spring and summer, others were prospective customers.

The High Ridge location, 2545 Little Antire Rd., still has horses on the property but few other signs of life indicating business is still conducted there. Multiple calls to numbers listed for the business were not returned. Their Facebook page has not offered an update on services since November 2012.

Is it a case of delayed communication? A customer who left reviews on Thumbtack and YellowPages.com in June 2012 said they had trouble getting in contact with the business to schedule a first lesson, only hearing from the business when they saw the customer left negative reviews on a site called CustomerLobby.com. However, an update from that customer said

Only one complaint about the business was placed with the Better Business Bureau. The complaint was closed, according to the BBB website.
