• Fire at Sugar Creek Apartments displaces two Thursday night (myleaderpaper.com) — A Thursday night fire at Sugar Creek Apartments in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton displaced two residents but caused no injuries, thanks in part to a quickly activating sprinkler system. High Ridge Fire crews, assisted by several nearby districts including Fenton’s, contained the blaze to a first-floor unit, and officials say most belongings should be salvageable while the cause remains under investigation.
   

• Apprenticeship program expands to St. Louis County students (spectrumlocalnews.com) — A new federally registered apprenticeship program based in Fenton is opening doors for St. Louis County high schoolers to earn paid experience in advanced manufacturing, starting as soon as this summer. Eight districts, including Lindbergh, Rockwood and Mehlville, have signed on, with Beckwood Press already hosting apprentices and more manufacturers expected to join soon.
   

• Mark Edward DesPres (komc.com) — A relative of a Fenton resident, 82-year-old Navy veteran and longtime Missouri educator Mark Edward DesPres, has passed away in Forsyth. His sister, Sarah Clarkson of Fenton, joins many family members mourning him as they prepare for his December 22 memorial service in Branson, where he’ll receive military honors and be laid to rest at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery.
