Northwest High School Sports Teams Gather Scholastic Awards

Missouri State High School Activities Association announces its annual scholastic awards for teams that have achieved in the classroom.

Several Northwest High School sports groups were recipients of "Outstanding" and "Distinguished" scholastic awards from the Missouri State High School Activities Association. The “Distinguished” designation applies to groups who have achieved a combined grade point average of 3.00 to 3.24 in their classroom work while actively participating in interscholastic activities. The “Outstanding” designation applies to groups who have achieved a combined Grade Point Average of 3.25 or above in their classroom work while actively participating in interscholastic activities.

The following groups received awards for the 2011-2012 school year:

  • Boys Cross Country - Distinguished Scholastic Award with 3.00 GPA
  • Boys Varsity Basketball - Distinguished Scholastic Award with 3.04 GPA 
  • Boys Volleyball - Distinguished Scholastic Award with 3.06 GPA
  • Girls Cheerleading - Distinguished Scholastic Award with 3.12 GPA 
  • Girls Cross Country - Distinguished Scholastic Award with 3.17 GPA
  • Girls Track and Field - Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award with 3.25 GPA
  • Girls Golf - Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award with 3.26 GPA
  • Girls Junior Varsity Basketball - Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award with 3.29 GPA
  • Girls Soccer - Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award with 3.30 GPA
  • Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award with 3.41 GPA
  • Girls Varsity Basketball - Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award with 3.49 GPA
  • Girls Freshman Volleyball - Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award with 3.52 GPA
  • Girls Dance - Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award with 3.58 GPA
  • Girls Varsity Volleyball - Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award with 3.74 GPA
