• Jefferson Co prof receives Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award (suntimesnews.com) — Hillsboro residents can celebrate Jefferson College economics professor Bruce Korbesmeyer, who has been honored with the 2025 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. College leaders say he stands out for both his classroom teaching and his deep involvement in campus life, bringing recognition to the Hillsboro-based institution and its students. 
• Missouri State Board of Nursing awards $150,000 grant to Crowder College (blogspot.com) — Jefferson College in Hillsboro will receive $125,000 from Missouri’s Nursing Education Incentive Program to upgrade technology and support professional development in its nursing program. The grant is part of $3.1 million awarded statewide to expand nursing education, boost faculty recruitment and retention, and improve clinical training, all aimed at easing Missouri’s nursing shortage.
• Two Fenton-area men allegedly stole guns, ammunition, accessories (myleaderpaper.com) — A recent burglary case tied to Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro involves two Fenton-area men accused of stealing several firearms, accessories, and thousands of rounds of ammunition from a local home. Deputies say the guns were quickly recovered from one suspect’s residence and returned to the owner, while both men face first-degree burglary charges and remain held on bond.
