Council members also renewed the supervised work release program, set a new Mozingo Event Center restaurant lease, and funded brush removal and generator maintenance to support essential city services.

• Barnard Driver Injured Following Accident South of Maryville (northwestmoinfo.com) — A 78-year-old Barnard man was moderately injured in a Monday evening crash about five miles south of Maryville on U.S. 71 and taken to Mosaic in Maryville. Troopers say his car was totaled after a pickup struck it from behind as he turned onto 340th Street, while the pickup driver from Oregon, Missouri was uninjured.
   

• Bearcats Football Get Two All-Americans (westerniowatoday.com) — Maryville’s own Northwest Missouri State Bearcats are celebrating two national football honors, with senior defensive lineman Clayton Power earning first-team All-America and sophomore tackle Kaleb McCullough landing on the second team. Their standout play anchored units that led the MIAA in both scoring defense and rushing offense, giving local fans plenty to cheer about this season.
