📰 News we're reading

• Nixa moves forward with plans for skate park, trails on century farm (sgfcitizen.org) — Nixa has officially budgeted $250,000 each to jump-start both the long-discussed Eoff Family Century Farm Park and a new skate park, with early work beginning after Jan. 1. The 105-acre farm park could open a basic walking trail by 2026 and may eventually link into Greene County’s Ozark Greenways system. Rotary Park is the leading candidate for the above-ground skate park, which would replace an older playground and sand volleyball pit.

• Safest Ozarks Town to Settle In? Missouri Has the Winner (ksisradio.com) — Nixa just earned a national nod from World Atlas as one of the safest places to settle in the Ozarks, rated safer than most U.S. cities. The piece highlights Nixa’s low crime rate, comfortable small-city population, and local parks and disc golf course, suggesting the community helps counter Springfield’s rough reputation and showcases the area’s quality of life.
