Betsy Ross Talks About Old Glory's Origins at O'Fallon's Heald Home

Betsy Ross paid a visit to the Heald Home in O'Fallon's Zumwalt Park Sunday afternoon.

That is, Betsy Ross as portrayed by Susan Bailey Russ of St. Peters.

Russ, as Betsy, spoke to visitors about life in colonial times, about Betsy Ross' life and how she came to sew the first Stars and Stripes. 

Russ is a member of the Caroline Close Stuart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She has been portraying Betsy Ross for school groups and genealogical societies for four years.
