Crews Upgrade Traffic Lights at Highway K, Laura Hill

The intersection will become 4-way stop Thursday night while traffic signals are upgraded.

Crews will begin work on traffic signals at the intersection of Highway K and Laura Hill on Thursday at 10 p.m.

The intersection will become a four-way stop with stop signs to direct traffic while signals are switched off for an upgrade. The traffic signals are expected to be operating again by 3:30 a.m. on Friday.

O'Fallon Project Manager Jeff Schuepfer said the light upgrade is part of the intersection project.

"The signal cabinet that contains all of the hardware systems will be removed and replaced with newer equipment," Schuepfer said. "Because all of the lights plug in to this cabinet, the disconnect will cause the signals to stop functioning while the work is undertaken."
