DARE Graduates Perform at City Hall

Fifth graders from John Weldon and Cindy Ostmann Elementary read essays and performed a skit for O'Fallon City Council members and parents at Thursday's meeting.

O'Fallon elementary school students presented award winning DARE essays and an anti-drug skit in front of a packed city council meeting on Thursday, Feb. 10.

Deputy Sandra Helmholt, of the St. Charles County Police Department, directed the skit. For 20 years, Helholt has served as a DARE officer and taught grade school children to "Just Say No."

Jake Conrad, from John Weldon Elementary and Caden Diel of Cindy Ostmann Elementary each had the opportunity to read their first place DARE essays while standing proudly in front of the crowd with their families.
