
St. Charles Community College hosts its third annual Scary Movie Marathon from Oct. 24-28.
The Student Activities Office plans to feature a different movie each night in the auditorium of the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building on the college campus in Cottleville. Guest speakers will also precede the movies every night.
Movies will be shown at 7 p.m. Monday-Friday, Oct. 24-28, with guest lectures starting at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Free popcorn is also available, and beverages and other snacks will be available to purchase.
Movie Schedule:
All films rated R require that all attendees under the age of 17 be accompanied by an adult to enter.
Monday, Oct. 24
6:30 p.m. – “Gender and Slasher Films” with Kate Weber, SCC adjunct professor of history.
7 p.m. – Scream 4 (2011). This film is rated R.
Tuesday, Oct. 25
6:30 p.m. – "Behind the Exorcist Story," with John Waide, St. Louis University archivist.
7 p.m. – The Exorcist (1973). This film is rated R.
Wednesday, Oct. 26
6:30 p.m. – “Aaahh!!! Real Zombies,” with Mitch Hardin, SCC assistant professor of psychology.
7 p.m. – 28 Days Later (2002). This film is rated R.
Thursday, Oct. 27
6:30 p.m. – “Types and Motives of Serial Killers” with Lisa Stoner, SCC professor of psychology.
7 p.m. – Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). This film is rated R.
Friday, Oct. 28
6:30 p.m. – “Pursuing the Paranormal,” with Greg Myers, president and investigative coordinator of Paranormal Task Force (PTF), and Sandy Oates, PTF vice president and case management coordinator.
7 p.m. – Poltergeist (1982). This film is rated PG-13.
