Kids Play at O'Fallon Public Works Fair

The seventh annual event allowed kids to see and touch equipment used by O'Fallon streets, water and sewer and environmental departments.

O'Fallon kids clutched orange balloons as they lined up to ride a train, watch a water flow demonstration and get a chance in the driver’s seat on some big machinery on Wednesday. 

The  parking lot was transformed into a playground filled with traffic signals, snow plows and other equipment for a few hours on Wednesday, seventh annual Public Works Fair was in full swing.

The annual event commemorates National Public Works Week May 20-26.

City staff from the streets, trash, recycling, water and sewer departments were on hand to supervise safety awareness games and activities for kids and educational material for adults.
