O'Fallon's Daryl Doran to Coach New Ambush Soccer Team

It's been seven years since St. Louis had a professional indoor soccer team, but the Ambush is back.

And who better than O'Fallon's own Daryl Doran to take the coaching reins?

Doran, a local soccer legend, is the only player who has played for every St. Louis pro indoor soccer team, holding a record of having played 827 games. He coached the original Ambush to a championship in the 1994-95 season.

"Indoor soccer is in my blood," Doran said in a press release. "I'm excited to return and encouraged by the commitment made by the new ownership."

"I think fans will like what they see from us," Doran said. "We have a lot of work to do and I'm ready to get started."

Doran owns O'Fallon's Doran Fitness, located at 2315 Technology Drive.

The Ambush held a press conference Tuesday, introducing Doran and the new Ambush ownership team.

St. Charles' Family Arena will be the team's new home. The arena recently made $800,000 in improvements and upgrades, including new dasher boards, two high-definition video and scoring displays and ribbon boards around the middle deck.
