Terrorist Threat on O'Fallon Business Could Land Wentzville Man in Jail

The man is charged with threatening to blow up the Sprint Corporate Center on Highway K.

A Wentzville man who called Sprint Corporate Center irate on Sunday now faces misdemeanor charges of making a terrorist threat.

Michael A. Duncan, 26, of Boles Avenue in Wentzville, was driving to the O’Fallon Sprint Store at 2963 Highway K when he called the Sprint Corporate Center and became irate. Duncan said he was going to blow up the Sprint Corporate Center and anything associated with Sprint, a probable cause statement said.

Several O’Fallon police officers arrived at the O’Fallon Sprint Store and evacuated dozens of customers from the store.

Duncan was taken into custody and questioned, but was not read his constitutional Miranda rights in order to ascertain whether there was a bomb in the vicinity of the business, according to the probable cause statement.

Duncan was asked if he made the threats and said, “I told her… I don’t know… I probably did… I know I said, ‘It’s not like I’m blowing you up.’ I could have said it a different way, I don’t know,” the probable cause statement said.
