• Poplar Bluff city manager's wife offers health update (kfvs12.com) — Poplar Bluff’s city manager, Robert Knodell, remains in inpatient treatment for alcohol-related issues, with his wife sharing that he has completed an initial program and entered a second, intensive course. She thanks the mayor, city council, and community for their support and prayers, and promises continued updates as he focuses on long-term recovery and accountability.
   

• Several accidents were reported on Saturday by Troop G of the Highway Patrol. (ecommnewsnetwork.com) — A 37-year-old Poplar Bluff woman suffered moderate injuries in a crash on U.S. 60 at Highway A in Ellsinore and was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital. The report also details several other weekend accidents across southern Missouri, outlining where they occurred and where each driver was transported for treatment.
   

• Anna McElroy (riverbender.com) — Poplar Bluff readers are remembering Anna McElroy, who was born here in 1937 and passed away December 11 in Alton, Illinois at age 88. Family and friends can attend visitation and a memorial service on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, with memorial donations suggested to the 5A’s animal shelter.
