The St. Charles Kiwanis Club donated 150 handmade toy cars and helicopters, made by club member George Dallmeyer, to SSM St. Joseph Health Center and SSM St. Joseph Hospital West for young patients who come to the Emergency Department.
“We are so grateful for people like George and the kindness of the St. Charles Kiwanis club to donate these toys to our hospitals,” says Sherry Gerke, director, SSM St. Joseph Foundation. “They will certainly brighten up the faces of our young patients.”
Dallmeyer makes toy cars and helicopters by starting with a 2x4 and fellow Kiwanis Club members help him assemble, paint and decorate the cars. The entire process took about two months from start to finish.
