Eleven file to Run in April St. Charles City Council Race

Four will square off in St. Charles City Council race for Ward 2 seat.

Four of five incumbents on the St. Charles City Council  have filed to run for reelection. Council members Larry Muench, Ward 2, Laurie Feldman, Ward 3, Bob Kneemiller, Ward 4, and Mike Weller, Ward 5, had filed by Tuesday at 5 p.m., the deadline to file.

Feldman and Kneemiller don't have any opponents in the race, but Muench will face three other opponents, including former councilman William Conrey. The race for the first district includes former State Rep. Kenny Biermann, who lost his bid for reelection in November, former city councilman Rory Riddler, and attorney Mary Ann Ohms.

Councilman Richard Veit, Ward 1, decided not to run for reelection and instead is seeking a position as municipal judge for St. Charles. He will face Paul Kaiser, an attorney and Bill Lohmar, former Associate Circuit Judge in April.
