Here are the top three stories today in St. Louis:

  1. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports that a 16-year-old boy was shot downtown on Saturday evening. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue around 9:00 p.m. The teen is reportedly in critical condition at a local hospital. As of Sunday evenings, there have not been any arrests in the investigation yet. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
  2. A new SSM Health program has been launched that will provide students with college credit while paying for a nursing degree. The "Nurse Extern" program, which already has 78 students enrolled from 17 different schools, is meant to address the growing national nurse shortage. Externs will primarily serve at St. Louis area SSM hospitals, with a goal of expanding to facilities across the four-state region SSM serves. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
  3. A St. Louis County church had its van stolen in the Glasgow Village area on Friday. Bishop Shaderach Martin spent the weekend searching for the van. The church used the van for its at-risk program. Residents are asked to contact law enforcement if a white van without any decals or identifying features is located. (KMOV4)
