- St. Louis County election officials announced Thursday that two candidates in next Tuesday's municipal election had been disqualified. Both Diana Harris and Carla Walker were removed from the ballot after the Missouri Department of Revenue determined that they had unpaid taxes. The notice of disqualification was made too late to remove the candidates' names from absentee ballots, but absentee votes for both Harris and Walker will not be counted. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
- Two firefighters were injured early Thursday morning while battling a vacant house fire in the Marine Villa neighborhood. A spokesperson for the St. Louis Fire Department says the injuries occurred when one of the firefighters fell from the second floor onto a colleague. Both crew members suffered minor injuries from the incident but are expected to recover. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
