20-Mile, 20-Vehicle Police Chase Ends In Wood River, Illinois
Two were taken into custody after police said they robbed a gas station in north St. Louis. A police K-9 helped apprehend one of the men.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Police from St. Louis County and several area departments chased two men in a dark-colored Dodge Charger nearly 20 miles after they reportedly robbed a gas station in north St. Louis Wednesday afternoon. More than 20 police vehicles joined the 100-mph chase that wound along Interstate 270 and Illinois Routes 3 and 143 before police finally were able to deploy spike strips near the intersection of Route 143 and Enviro Way in Wood River, Ill. The suspects' vehicle crashed and two men were taken into custody with the help of a police K-9. According to law enforcement, stolen merchandise and a firearm were recovered from the car.
