- A woman won $3 million from a scratch-off ticket purchased from a St. Louis Circle K. The lucky winner, whose name has not been disclosed, purchased the $30 "Big Riches" scratcher at the gas station located at 2090 Craig Road. According to the Missouri Lottery, the average chance of winning $30 or more from a "Big Riches" scratcher is 1 in 2.66. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
- This weekend's rain is expected to clear just in time for St. Louis skywatchers to see a total lunar eclipse tomorrow night. The eclipse's most noticeable part will come when the moon begins to enter Earth's dark inner shadow, known as the umbra. Here in St. Louis, that event will start on Sunday at 9:27 p.m.; the totality phase of the eclipse will last nearly an hour and a half. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
- Missouri health officials are investigating about 10 cases of a mysterious form of hepatitis that has affected otherwise healthy young children. According to Dr. Janis Stoll, a pediatric gastroenterologist who cares for patients at St. Louis Children's Hospital, the hospital has seen an unusual spike in acute hepatitis over the past few months. Officials with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services are reported to be working with the CDC in the investigation; they have not yet reported where the cases were reported or how severe they were.
