Here are the top three stories today in St. Louis:

  1. Amid the rise of COVID-19 infections, St. Louis returns to a high transmission level. Hospitalizations in the metro area have been on the rise over the last couple of weeks. It is reportedly hard to gauge the exact rate of transmission since residents are not testing as much as they used to or are testing at home using home testing kits. (KSDK.com)
  2. Multiple shootings took place in St. Louis this weekend, and officials are currently investigating each incident. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said three separate shootings occurred on Saturday evening: one near the intersection of 8th and Chestnut streets around 8 p.m., one near N. Broadway and Halls Ferry Road around 8:50 p.m., and a fatal one in the 4700 block of Labadie Avenue around 9:10 p.m. There was also a shooting in the early hours of Sunday morning in the 5200 block of Mimika Avenue. In total, one individual was killed and four were injured. Anyone with information about these shootings should contact STL police. (FOX 2)
  3. The Spirit of St. Louis Air Show is coming back to nearby Chesterfield this weekend. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be flying on Jun. 11 and 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Learn more and purchase tickets to the show here. (KMOV)
