Here are the top three stories today in St. Louis:

  1. City Of St. Louis' Comptroller Darlene Green will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Aug. 10. The community blood drive will from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in City Hall's Room 208. The drive is vital during the national blood shortage that is posing a significant risk to patient care throughout the United States. (Press Release Desk)
  2. A St. Louis-based tech startup won $25,000 during a Milwaukee music festival. Kwema won first-place for its project that will make smart workplace badges designed to increase safety for hospital employees. Kwema pitched its idea to a panel of five judges last Thursday during the 2022 Summerfest Tech Pitch Competition. (The Business Journals)
  3. St. Louis is experiencing another heat wave. The triple-digit heat indexes began on Monday. The city is currently under a heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid extended direct sunlight. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
