Announcing Patch's Fall Photo Contest

ST. LOUIS, MO — The leaves are starting to hit their peak, and it's really feeling like fall in St. Louis. So, we're jumping on that fall feeling and announcing Patch's fall photo contest. Whether you're a landscape, portrait or street photographer, or you just like to snap pics of your kids on the weekend, this is your chance to wow us.

It doesn't matter what kind of camera you have, from a $63,000 medium format monster (drool) to the smartphone in your back pocket. We're not looking for megapixels — what's in front of the camera is much more important that what's behind it. Photos will be judged on creativity, composition and "voice." Bonus point for pics that scream autumn and photos that could only have been taken in St. Louis.

He also has great videos on exposure, composition and other photography basics if you're just starting out.

We'll feature your photos from now through December as our photo of the day. The deadline is midnight on Sunday, December 2. We'll announce the winner the following week. By submitting a photo, you'll be signed up for our newsletters and breaking news alerts and also entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card.

Feel free to submit as many photos as you like, just make sure you have the rights to share them and that you're okay with us sharing them on Patch. The winning photographer will also get a $50 Amazon gift card, plus a feature interview on Patch. So, you can tell us how you got into photography and let others know where they can see more of your photos.
