Army Chopper Seeks Shelter From Storm In Restaurant Parking Lot
The helicopter was among four headed cross country, from California to Connecticut, when it was forced to land by a passing thunderstorm.

FESTUS, MO — An army CH-47 Chinook helicopter made an unexpected landing in the parking lot of a Festus restaurant Monday afternoon, witnesses said. The Post-Dispatch reports the twin-rotor aircraft was forced down by a storm around 3 p.m. Two other helicopters made emergency landings in Sparta, Illinois, and a fourth landed at Festus Memorial Airport.
The helicopters took no damage and no one was injured.

Witnesses said the helicopter stayed on the ground for about an hour until the storm passed. It was among a group of four headed cross country, from California to Connecticut.
