- St. Louis County Executive Sam Page announced Friday that the St. Louis County mask mandate is likely to end next month if COVID-19 case numbers continue to decline. The latest data from county health officials indicate an average daily rate of 178 new cases per day. Despite his optimism, Khan warned that the virus still continues to spread at high levels and asked residents to "remain vigilant." (STLtoday.com)
- Wildlife experts have provided an update on the investigation into the mysterious death of a murder of crows outside the federal courthouse downtown. Preliminary tests have ruled out avian influenza as the cause of the birds' death, according to a spokesman for the Missouri Department of Conservation. Physical examinations of the birds also revealed no signs of wounds. Testing is still being done to pinpoint the cause of death. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
- A St. Louis teenager was awarded a $5,000 prize to help fund her business that helps underserved women. 17-year-old Elise Zeigler was one of 25 young people nationwide named as a recipient of the award from Prudential Emerging Visionaries. Her business, Selah Textiles, offers underserved individuals the chance to design and print their own textiles, and the proceeds are donated to local organizations that support immigrants.
