Here are the top three stories today in St. Louis:
- St. Louis-area Boeing employees have voted to authorize a strike. The employees are members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 837. They collectively voted to reject a contract offer presented by Boeing. The strike will begin on Aug. 1 if a deal is not brokered before the strike deadline. (KMOV4)
- A foot chase in north St. Louis ends with the arrest of two teenagers. A St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officer discharged their gun at a gun-wielding teen during the chase. The incident began with department officers determining that a stolen vehicle was driving erratically. The case is currently under review with the department's force investigation unit. - A tanker trailer chemical leak was responded to by emergency crews and a HAZMAT team on Saturday. The incident occurred in East St. Louis along Missouri Avenue. The City of East St. Louis advised local residents to remain in their homes or businesses during the emergency response. Anyone feeling ill after the incident should report to an emergency room.
